If you follow me on Intagram you know that last week I was in Ireland - I had planned to share with you some of my pictures, but it’s now Friday and I haven’t even had a chance to look at them myself as it seems like I barely stopped moving all week. Maybe I’ll manage to edit some to share next week.
While this week was busy there were a couple of great things that happened. On Monday I found out that I won the ‘Paint it like new’ giveaway from Vanessa at Decor Happy. I can’t tell you how very excited I am about this. Remember the Kijiji chairs I got early last year? Well, as soon as I decide on some pretty fabric they’re going to get a nice colourful makeover. I think it’s about time I got a move-on with this project given I’ve owned the chairs for almost 2 year.
On Wednesday I went to see ‘Argo’ with D, and I quite enjoyed it. I’m too young to remember the Iranian hostage crisis, but even I know the story was largely fictionalized for an American audience. I found the Wikipedia article 'Canadian Caper', this one by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada and this one on 'The Slate' helpful in clearing up a few things.
On Thursday evening a friend and I had the opportunity to head down to Liberty Village to attend the IYellow Wine Club Design Series event being held at the new EQ3 store. It was a fun evening – what’s not to like about checking out some wonderful furniture while sampling some tasty wine and appetizers? Crush VQA was sampling 4 wines and I have to say I rather liked their Riesling-Gewurztraminer – it would go nicely with relaxing on a summer patio, so it’s too bad we’re heading rapidly into fall - drat.
Anyways, here are some of the drool worthy things I spotted last evening (sorry – they were taken with my phone)
If I didn't already have a sofa I'd be tempted by this one - the Reverie 2 piece sectional |
I love the bright and colourful Marimekko fabric, and the creative way they used it as wall art |
The second of the two Crush wines I tried (the Riesling) and a tasty slider - one of the yummy appetizers (I'm a bad blogger and forgot the name of the restaurant that provided the food) |
Love the EQ3 Tahsis light. I have a very similar one in storage - I should really get around to hanging it in my dining room. |
The Eames Lounge chair in lovely white leather. In a future home I will have one of these |
*Disclosure - I was given tickets to the IYellow Design Series event at EQ3, however all opinions expressed are solely my own.
