Bathroom Makeover - Part 4 - The Reveal

I'm happy to report that my bathroom mini-makeover is finally complete! Yay!(If you haven't been following along you can catch up here with the inspiration, the great paint debate, part 1, part 2, and part 3).

The last step towards improving my bathroom was simple accessories:
I replaced the knobs on the under sink cabinet with something a little sparklier ($4.99 each at Home Depot), I added a little whimsy in the form of my English rubber ducky (a Christmas gift from my brother who lives in London), a pretty Peony in a glass vase (HomeSense - $9.99), some new stainless steel accessories - soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, etc. (Great Canadian Superstore - these were a gift from my mom) and some glass jars filled with cotton pads and swabs (I already owned the jars).
And this is my favorite part:
When I originally started this mini-makeover my goal was to complete it for less than $300, but given the money I unexpectedly had to pay for faucet installation this wasn't quite feasible:
- Part 1 - Paint and moulding - $35
- Part 2 - New lighting, faucet and faucet installation - $300 (eek!)
- Part 3 - Additional storage - $95
- Part 4 - New accessories - $50
- Grand Total - $480
Do I wish that I had managed to do the makeover within my original budget? Yes, but even though I ended up spending quite a bit more than I had originally hoped to pay, I'm quite pleased with the final results and I think it was worth it - do you?

ReplyDeleteI have found a dresser set at a thrift shop that I really want but I think they are asking too much for it. $219 and $269 for the two pieces with the more expensive piece including a big mirror. I cannot find anything like it on the internet either to try and figure out what it's worth. It looks old. The taller dresser has 2 levels. It looks like an inset dresser on top of a large dresser. and the other one is wide.
